Dublin.
My best friend and I recently went to Dublin, pretty much purely to catch Amanda Palmer do a solo gig at The Sugar Club. We're both big fans of hers/The Dresden Dolls and thankfully after travelling all the way from Sunderland she didn't disappoint. During the encore she did however prop herself up against the back of my chair (I nearly shat myself) and afterwards we met her (she was lovely). The next day Jill and I had a lush lunch at a local veggie restaurant and we and also went to Neil Gaiman's book signing at Chapters Book Store (one of the best book shops EVER). Neil Gaiman has to be one of my favourite authors. The Sandman Chronicles and American God's are two of my all time top 10 books/works. There's a few more photo's on my Flickr.
Apologies for the crap quality of the videos but they're via my mobile. Bah.

I love how clouds look whilst flying.
Polaroid…
Yes yes I love Polaroid cameras and yes I am super chuffed that Polaroid film is to be saved (see a few posts ago). However I am also pretty impressed with Poladroid. It's a lot cheaper than buying Polaroid film and I love the little effects on the program such as the sound effects and the ability to "shake it like a Polaroid". It's super cute.
The photo itself is of me (taken on Photobooth) sporting 18mm silicone flesh tunnels. I'm trying to get my ears up to 20mm. The silicone is proving to be an excellent method of stretching my piercings up and I wish I had tried it before now. *Woop*.
Music…
A few months ago my iPod broke and had to be sent away to get repaired. I was pretty gutted as it meant I had to travel to and from work without any music to wake me up/wind me down as it was going to take weeks to get repaired. Since I was planning on re-joining the gym anyway (I still haven’t however) I decided to buy an iPod Shuffle to tide me by and I've discovered that something strange has happened.
I'm a huge music fan and am quite a purist about it too and when I originally bought my iPod a few years ago I bought the biggest one available at the time so that I could fit every CD/MP3 that I own on it (it doesn’t). This came in handy for a few reasons:
1. Its handy at parties.
2. It confirms that I probably suffer from OCD.
3. I promote/DJ at a Rock/Metal/Alt night each week (It's called Ammunition and I started it up about 2 years ago) and it's good to have as an emergency back up (especially if you have a few set lists already set up on it) in case things went tits up during DJ'ing.
4. It plays movies so is great if you're bored and traveling.
However I've found a lot of the time I would listen to music on random (which in fairness helps me prepare my set list for the next Ammunition) or I would literally be that spoilt for choice I wouldn't know what to play. In the past it proved to be rather bulky when I was at the gym too. My iPod returned fixed and fine and I've had it back about 2 months now and you know what? I've never even touched it. I'm enjoying using my iPod Shuffle more. Reason's being is that it:
1. Clips onto my bag/clothing so the bulk issue is now irrelevant.
2. I can't see what band/song is playing as there is no display so most of the time I make myself listen to whichever song is playing.
3. It still helps me with preparing my set lists.
4. It's pink.
I'm quite surprised. I honestly thought I would hate not being in control as it were. Plus I think it can double as a really cool "mix tape" style present for people because compared to the iPods they're relatively cheap at £32. You can fill it with songs that you want on it but personally I've found doing that ruins the surprise.
